I would like to say I love the beach...AND I love these beautiful pregnant bellies. Isn't she just glowing? Ya, she is. We had such a good time, it was the perfect day, the sun was just beginning to go down and Ashley is just a complete natural in front of the camera. Wedding photographer in Utah {B & G are HITCHED}

These two....so fabulous. So easy going. They are going to have a GREAT life. It was freeeezing cold the day of their wedding. I guess that's what happens when you get married in December. :) But she was such a good sport with her beautiful barbie tiny dress to go with her barbie tiny body. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple, then had their reception at a ward building. We also did many a wedding photographs a few weeks ago at the Capitol building. You should check them out.

The Sweetness of Carter....who lived for 9 months in the belly of his mama

There are many reasons I'm grateful this holiday season. One of them is my love of photography, and the enormous blessings that have come from it. This year I've had the privilege of working with some amazing people going through hard, hard things. I've realized that there are those whose trials are right there in front of our faces, and many many others who are enduring, silently, the enormous burdens life has brought them. Only this year I've worked with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation a few times, and 2 families with children who have CF. An amazing family who's father and husband went through brain surgery. Sweet Jonas Coleman who had SMA....I photographed him and his family then only weeks later he passed away. Mr. Super Spencer, 8 years old, who is undergoing a year long treatment for his cancer. I got to photograph his fundraiser, his Make A Wish, and his family. Another great family who's mother is undergoing chemo AGAIN, after being cancer free.
And this wonderful girl, her family, and her precious still born baby Carter. Ashley was full term, and due in a few days with her first baby, when she went in for an ultrasound. They couldn't find a heartbeat. I was going to photograph the birth of Carter. I got the phone call from her Mom telling me what had happened. I cried all the way to the hospital just after she gave birth. I waited on the floor in the hallway with her mom, dad, sister, brother and friend. This family is to say the least, amazing. Her mom is the epitome of strength, endurance, service and love. And her Dad, he's just one big pillar of strength and then mush inside. So loving and kind. She's a lucky girl to have so much support.
It was a truly sacred experience. Ash loves him...she kept talking to him, kissing him and snuggling up to him. I have no doubt he felt everyone of those sweet words she whispered and every soft touch to his tiny hands and face. Thank you Ash for letting me meet your sweetness baby. He is watching you from heaven.

Makes me so incredibly thankful. Thankful for all I've been given, and for all of you who have made my year so meaningful. Thank you.

Ashleys Dad. What a tender and sacred moment. I feel so blessed to have captured that moment in time forever. It brings me right back to how I felt in that room at that moment.

I'm always happy to donate my photography services for situations like this. I'm also a part of a group called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep who does this as well. I'm also always willing to do the same for terminally ill kids, and adults. Don't hesitate to email me if you know someone in any of these situations. No one should leave this life without great photos to preserve their memory. We never know what tomorrow holds for us.

Taste of Salt Lake 2010 {charity event}

This year I had the opportunity to photograph an amazing event called Taste of Salt Lake. This event features gourmet cuisine from the finest restaurants in all of Salt Lake, entertainment, a silent auction, and a live auction. It's all in support of Cystic Fibrosis research. It was a fabulous event. The food....simply amazing.

Wow, once I get out of the blogging world, it's hard to drag myself back in. But I had to share some images from this shoot. Remember Spencer? He's just the greatest kid, 8 years old and trying to fight cancer. You can see his trip to Make a Wish in Salt Lake here. Or the benefit for him here.
We finally got around to being able to photograph their family. EVERY time we would schedule Spencer got a fever and had to be hospitalized....really, it was 3 or 4 times. I just love this amazing family. Strong, vibrant, loving and hope filled. Couldn't have spent my time any better. :) Love you guys! You can see more of Spencer and his journey here.

Sweet Jonas Coleman {until we meet again}

If any of you follow my blog, you'll remember this family. Last night Jonas went home to his Heavenly Father. Sweet Jonas and his little sister Maggie have SMA Type I- it's a terminal genetic disease that results in loss of nerves in the spinal cord and weakness of the muscles connected with those nerves.
I can't tell you the gratitude I feel for having the privilege of photographing their family. To have taken part in seeing the love that exists between them, and capturing it. wow. I had to re-post these touching images of Jonas and his family that we took just a few weeks ago. My heart goes out to The Colemans.

I photographed this lovely family 2 years ago just after Becki, the amazing mom of this brood, was diagnosed with cancer. I was so happy to hear from them again!! This time Becki said she'd been cancer free, until just recently. She's getting ready to undergo treatment all over again, and she fights this disease. It's a long road. What a blessing it is that she has the tremendous love and support of her family. I tell you this so that today you might love a little deeper, enjoy your family a little more, and appreciate the delicate gift of life. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers. They truly are an amazing family!

Salt Lake Capitol Building Wedding Photographer {Gonzo and Bonnie}

I had the best time with these two. We did their bridals...groomals...whatever you'd like to call them, at the Capitol building in Salt Lake. It was so pretty. And these two know how to work it. Aren't they just too gorgeous? It was even warm enough for us to shoot outside for little bit, good think it wasn't windier or teeeny tiny Bonnie may have been carried away by the wind. :) I'm so so excited for their wedding next month! I may have gone a little overboard in sharing my favorites...but I couldn't help it. We got to go into a few rooms that they usually don't let photographers in, it was pretty much amazing. One of the rooms I didn't post any from, because I don't know I'm even allowed. ha, so I'm taking any chances. :) Enjoy your Monday!

Salt Lake Family Photographer {the end of fall....}

Oh I am so sad the end of fall is here. long sob..... but I'm so happy we had such a lovely indian summer. That was beyond beyond beautiful. I'm not working in December, except a few weddings and a newborn session. But I am booking into Spring 2011 now. I'm traveling to the Phoenix area in January and have one or two spots left. I haven't announced it yet, but I've had so many inquiries that I'm already pretty much full, I'm only taking 10-12 sessions. So if you need one of those spots, email me pronto! :)

I loved these two. They are just the coolest couple. I loved that Zach has a weird girls sunglasses fetish.... he's said to me "I think I got these ones at Icing". I almost died laughing. I can not say enough about this family. I had the best time with them. From making my puppet pig throw up grass, to watching them run around in the leaves and the kids tackle their mom and dad. I love this family. I have been doing their family pictures for quite a few years now. Emily almost had a panic attack while we were trying to get these, but then she recovered and survived. Moms...do NOT stress. Leave that up to ME. :) Your job is to have fun. Right Em?? hahahaha

Do you ever look at family photos and wonder why everything looks like it went so smoothly? :) Well, I really loved these two images, they show a small portion of what so many of the photos looked like. They truly crack me up. How could I NOT save these ones?

In this one I had told the kids to give hugs to each other. Clearly Macy (smack dab in the middle) was absolultely not into the cuddling thing. Her expression says it all.

And here we have Macy decapitating one of the twins. I was honestly laughing out loud at my computer screen when I saw this one....

This little boy can run...and run...and run. That is literally what he did the entire session. It was awesome. If only I had that kind of energy! Loved this family, it's always nice to have a mini challenge where kids don't want to do anything you ask them too. Makes life a little more interesting, and it creates what is actually his world right now. A little more of his character shines through that way. It may look like he was posing for some of these...rest assured, he was NOT. :) That makes these all the more precious. He was just so dang cute....check out their adorableness:

Meeting all of these new families this year has been so great. I really love that part about photographing families...These guys are huge Vikings fans, so they brought some jerseys to get a few pics in at the end. It was awesome. We also did a few of his sisters, Jenny and Annie. Jenny, seriously adorable. She loved this Sponge Bob ball, the Charlie Brown and a wooden spoon, how could I NOT get a picture of that?

Annie is an AMAZING harpist. People, I mean Amazing! If anyone out there is getting married and needs a harpist, I would highly highly recommend her. She's a senior next year....we have big plans for her senior pictures. :)

Lifestyle, newborn and child session {fauset photography}

OK, I did a sneak peak of this session just below....I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it. I love doing sessions like this. We just kind of do whatever the kids want to do, it's relaxed and kids love being in their own homes, with their own special things. Mama Chandler is pretty much my hero, running when she just had here sweet newborn Mattias. Ya, I know...she's all of our idols. OH how I LOVED this session. Lifestyle sessions, in clients homes are what I am passionate about. I love capturing children in their own environment with their favorite things...there's is honestly nothing more precious than that. In years, you can look back and see your child just how you saw them then, carrying their favorite blanket around the house, or playing with a favorite toy. Truly priceless. Spencer is having CT scans today to make sure brain and vital organs are functioning properly after 5 days of high fevers, and to check for a possible fungal infection. PLEASE pray extra hard for Spencer today. Let's get him out of this hospital! He has already had 3 platelet transfusions and one blood transfusion. Spencer was diagnosed with a Rhabdomyosarcoma, a malignant tumor in his parapharyngeal space on February 2, 2010. He is just the sweetest kid you've ever met. And his family is just amazing.

Utah Photographer {The Coleman Family}

If you would like to feel grateful, and let your heart grow few sizes bigger...meet the Coleman family. This family is simply inspiring. I couldn't edit their session with out crying. Not out of sadness, but out love. Love over the connection this amazing family has for each other. Love that I know God has for them. Love that I had for those sweet children after only laying eyes on them. Love that I had for these parents, knowing what a struggle everyday must be. Not only physically, but emotionally. And gratitude. Lots and lots of gratitude. It really puts life into perspective when you meet such a solid family, who seem to be weathering the storms of life with calmness in their hearts.

At six weeks old Jonas was diagnosed with a genetic disorder called SMA (spinal muscular atrophy). SMA Type I is a terminal genetic disease that results in loss of nerves in the spinal cord and weakness of the muscles connected with those nerves. He's now almost 3. They just had their 2nd baby, little Maggie. They had a very small chance that she would have SMA, however Maggie was also born with this disease. Because of the weighing costs that come from taking care of 2 children with SMA friends and family have put together a carnival to raise money for the Colemans.

Kieli's bridal sneak peek (salt lake city utah}

Kieli is ultra photogenic. We did her engagement pictures downtown salt lake just a while back and had a blast. Now it's time for her bridals...there are a ton. I met Kathy almost 3 years ago when little Sophie was born. We sat at my house a chatted for many an hour while we waited for Sophie to fall asleep so I could do her newborn pictures. Kathy is an amazing mother, wife and friend...and I must mention that the woman can RUN. :) I'm so thankful for a job (even calling it that sounds like work) that lets me meet so just fabulous people. Utah High School Senior Photographer {Jaylen}

Jaylen drove all the way from Southern Utah to have her senior pictures taken! I'm SO glad I got to work with her. I mean, hello, would you look at her?! She was so fun, laid back, and absolutely stunning. Her eyes are pretty much amazing.

I met Natalie at her sister in law's wedding last year. She is just an amazing person. We just became instant friends. I just wish her and her sweet family lived closer! They live in Arizona...much too far. They came to Utah a few months ago for pictures and the day of, their kids got really sick. It was such a bummer! So, they drove all the way to Utah AGAIN to try for family pictures. We succeeded this time. :) It was so much fun photographing them downtown. Their kids are beyond adorable, and full of energy- they're only a year apart. So did a lot of jumping up and down, bribing and finding lady bugs. It was fun. :)

I know this amazing family from Flagstaff Arizona because we went to the same church, and work. The husbands (mine and Carol's) worked together. Are they not the cutest things ever?! I loved loved loved their shoot. Loved their outfits. It has inspired me to go shopping again for outfits for my own kids. Oh my goodness. This week I am reminded why I love my "job" so much. The people I meet are really so incredible. Each family has such different strength that I admire and I love seeing how parents interact with each of their children, it makes me a better mom. This family is all the way from Iowa. They were in Park City on vacation and wanted family photo session while they were here. I'm so glad that Meg found me!! The day was perfect, the kids were perfect, and I think some of these images are pretty dang perfect. :) I know it's a big sneak peak. I couldn't help myself.

I would just like to tell you that today is my birthday. :) I'm 34...it's frightening how fast the time goes. The 30's have been good to me. I actually prefer 30's over 20's. Something about the being content thing, and not caring what other people think. It's really true. It's kind of freeing.
Last weekend my hubs and I spent the weekend in San Francisco with our friends, it was A-Maze-ing. Emily took these and put this sweet collage together. I had to share.
Have a happy happy day! I will, my husband bought me about 500 gallons of dark chocolate. word. :)

You may remember this fab couple from almost a year ago...I shot their engagement pictures here in Murray, I would highly recommend checking out that session, it was so fun. Anyhow, they are both from California but really wanted to be married in the Salt Lake Temple. It was kind of like they eloped, only 3 guests, made for very low key family photos... :) So, me, their 3 guests and Dave from David Perry Films, strolled around taking millions of images. It was fantastic. At one point I asked Dore if she was worried about her dress getting so dirty, she said No, she has another wedding dress just for their reception at home. How awesome is that? They wanted me to go to Cali for that but I was already booked. Bummer! I would have loved to see that one. :)

It's pretty much the highlight of my day. I love it. Jillian and Tyler met at BYU Idaho and have dated for the past 2 years. Jill is from California and Ty from Elko Nevada. I was so happy to be a part of their wedding. It really is an honor to be able to photograph such a once in a lifetime day. It's a day you can never re-do, so the photographer you choose had better be what you want. :)

Love this shoot. Probably one of my favorite things to do is document these little babies coming into the world. There is no word to describe it. It is a miracle. This little newborn was a miracle baby. Her brother and sister asked for a baby every holiday...I know, tear. Now they have thier sister! Mama is one of my best friends from the good old college days. She went to school while I stayed home and slept through class. Sad, but true. It was more than an honor to be there to photograph the birth of this sweet spirit entering the human race.

Love these guys. They have vision, and were so much fun to work with. Getting your family photos taken can be really stressful...especially for moms. Kids don't usually cooperate and it's frustrating. But totally NORMAL. What kid wants to sit and smile for an hour? Uh, none. I try to make everything as laid back as possible so all you moms don't have to worry. :) But Rachel didn't once stress out. She's amazing. Little Taylor loves getting pics taken, can you tell? She's such ham, it was awesome!

This shoot was a very lovely blast from the past. I went to High School with Carlyn years ago. Too many years ago. :) We found each other on Facebook {don't you love Facebook for that!} She now lives across the ocean in France. Jealous.
