This was another amazing experience for me. I was able to go with Spencers family to the Make a Wish foundation in Murray Utah and document Spencer declaring his wish. Now I haven't known this family long, but I dearly love them already. Spencer has the sweetest, kindest spirit about him. It was hard to choke back the tears over and over.
Spencer holding his token before he throws it in the Wishing pond.
Family making their wishes...
The ceiling of the building. It was AMAZING.
Happy Spencer
Spencer talking about what he'll wish for
Writing down his wish...so EXCITING!
Mama Holly writing her wish for Spencer

He puts his wish in this special place
then takes it to a special room that he has the key to
The family tells their wishes for Spencer. I could hardly not cry. So I just did.
He puts his wish in this
then attaches it to this...and his wish is officially declared to the Wishing Wizard!
After wards, they go into a room to celebrate, and eat ice cream and cookies. How can you resist this 7 year old face?

I love this picture of him! So much, I do.
I love you guys!!! THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity to share such a precious experience with you. I will never forget it.

These are just a few of the images I took of Spencers fundraiser event. Raising money for the insurmountable costs of treating cancer. It was so touching how many people came to support him and his family. Chick-fil-a is having a giving back day on Tuesday April 6th! Chick-fil-a of South Jordan is donating 10% of the days proceeds, plus taking cash & check donations & holding an in-store silent auction. Thanks Chick-fil-a!
These are his amazing parents Holly and Nate. Holly had to come without Spencer. He was off fighting cancer. I think she was pretty moved at the sheer number of people who came and the literal amount of work that went into putting on such an event by her friends.
The Jazz bear and one of their players- Wesley Matthews, showed up VIA HELICOPTER!!!

This awesome GameNGo video gaming truck came. Seriously so fantastic. It has mounted big flat screen TV's inside and like 12 kids play at the same time. Plus, the TV's outside. This would be the coolest thing ever for a birthday party. They come to you! If you're interested in this at all, I have their info.
Spencers Dad getting his head shaved- and little brother too. :) Over 100 people have shaved their head to support Spencer. Incredible.
Tender moment alert: This little guy showed up with this bag of his own money from his piggy bank. All he had was donated to Spencer. I had to shed a tear while taking this. Really, it helps you realize what life is really all about.

Hang in there Spencer. You can do it!! Now tell me this boy isn't loved & completely adored by many. I photographed this event free of charge. I'm always happy to donate my time and images to great causes like this. contact me for info.

Meet sweet Spencer. He is just 7 years old and fighting a battle with cancer. He was diagnosed with a Rhabdomyosarcoma, a malignant tumor in his parapharyngeal space in February. Just a week ago Hollys {Spencers amazing mom) friends put together a giant fundraiser. I photographed the event. It was so great- they had so much support. The only bummer was that Spencer wasn't able to attend the event. So heart wrenching. At the event they had a section where anyone could get their head shaved. You wouldn't even believe how many people did it. It was over 75 people that shaved their locks off to support Spencer. I'll post images from that later.
Then, this past Sunday I was able to photograph Spencer getting his head shaved. He has so much support and love on his side. This was my favorite image from that night. It's the kind of photo that does make you feel something. I love the strength and love you can see in his moms face. Truly touching. When I think of Spencer it makes me want to hug my own children tighter and tell them how deeply I love them. Life is fragile, and oh so precious.
To support Spencer and his family, check out their blog here.
